The design accentuates the lofts original qualities of spaciousness and light, adapting them to the needs of a small family residence. Ceiling height was maximised and rooms were partitioned off, while maintaining a continuity of spaces.
Translucent glass doors allow flexibility and privacy without creating a sense of enclosure. Custom-designed walnut, lacquer, aluminium and glass millwork throughout the apartment lend an elegantly simple look.
Hand-crafted marmorino stucco finish on the walls, concrete countertops, terrazzo tile flooring, and brushed stainless steel mosaic are among the many uncommon and beautiful materials employed in this East Village gut renovation.
